Patent/IP engineer (H/F)

Job Description

Are you ready to help us invent the future? As Intellectual Property Expert you will be involved in a large variety of projects from ideation to legal clearance of products under development or even to commercialized. You will also have the opportunity to support product engineering activities in the chemistry field in particular for stationery products (such as inks, pencils, glue, erasers), tattoo compositions or skin care formulations/coatings while being part of an international team and interacting with many different department within the Organization.

The role could be based in France (Clichy and Montévrain) as well as in Greece (Athens)

What will you do:

  • Implement specific IP protection strategies that meet the needs of the Company’s business and market in coordination with the Group IP function, the R&D and the marketing teams.
  • Assess whether inventions are new and innovative and therefore eligible to be patented and take a leading role in determining patenting and filing strategy. Supervise the drafting with outside counsel support
  • Freedom to Operate studies support for any new product or services to be commercialized
  • Participate in the decision with the R&D and IP teams, to seek patent protection by identifying the scope of claims coverage in light of prior art and the development objectives for the technology.
  • Prosecute patent applications in autonomy and in collaboration with outside counsel support
  • Monitoring/assessing IP positioning of competitors and work on validity studies and ongoing oppositions

Qualifications

  • You have an engineering University Masters, chemistry would be an asset
  • You have, at least 3 years of working experience as Intellectual Property/Patent Expert either in law firms or in industry
  • You have the Pre-European Qualification exam validated
  • You are fully qualified European Patent Attorney, or part qualified.
  • You write and speak fluent in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Internet Explorer
  • You are autonomous in searching patent information databases for novelty, IP landscape and innovation fostering
  • You have the ability to multi-task
  • You are willing to grow in the Patent field
