Job description
AC Immune is seeking an IP Analyst, who would support the IP team in managing the patent portfolio covering biology-related inventions
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Freedom-To-Operate and Patentability searches
- Define and conduct the patent searches, analyze the search results and present the results in a form of reports and presentations
- Identify competitors and perform their monitoring on regular basis
- Identify possible infringers and perform their monitoring on regular basis
- Perform landscape analysis for new projects
- Assist IP team on summarizing patentability arguments over prior art and support IP team on patent prosecution upon need
- Assist the IP team in patent application drafting and reviewing process
Required:
- At least 2 years of IP (patent) working experience
- Advanced degree (PhD or MS) in Life Sciences-related discipline, with good knowledge of molecular biology
- Personal features include:
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize, analyze and communicate key information
- Attention for details
- Ability to handle very sensitive and confidential matters
- Ability to digest complex scientific concepts and patent claims and explain them in understandable terms to scientists and patent attorneys
- Strong interpersonal skills for building networks with key experts and ensuring the interface with internal departments
- Ability to adapt priorities to meet company needs while maintaining effectiveness
- Leadership and project management skills
- Good spoken and written English are required
